Music Ministry

Music Ministry

John Wesley instructed his Methodist congregations to “lift up your voice with strength.” Community of Hope aspires to offer God our very best praise and worship through a rich diversity of music. Congregational songs range from gospel to stately, from contemporary rock to timeless folk tunes. All instruments have a welcomed place in worship: pipe organ and piano, bass and drums, chimes and bells, winds, brass, and strings. Join us as we weave together our diverse voices to lift up an offering of praise and commitment.

In addition to congregational singing, Community of Hope offers additional opportunities to participate in music worship. The Chancel Choir meets weekly (September through May) to prepare a Sunday choral anthem. These anthems span the full range of styles and genres. If you read music and enjoy part singing, please inquire for details.

Vocal soloists and instrumentalists add variety and vitality to worship. If you have an interest in sharing your talent, I’d welcome a conversation.

The Community of Hope Memorial Handbells are used occasionally for special events. Typically, a group is formed, holds a few rehearsals, and then plays. If you read music and have an interest in playing, please contact John Emert.
